- going to palestinePalestine | In our last post, I wrote about our decision to volunteer in Palestine; I wrote about our fears and doubts, and about how being there was incredibly meaningful. In this post, I want to share a poem/reflection that I wrote during the weeks when we were wrestling with the decision of whether or not to go.
- “You’re So Brave”Palestine | It wasn’t an easy decision for us to go out of our comfort zone and take a risk. I want to share some of our doubts were, and what we experienced while we were there. I hope that by doing so I can encourage you to take steps beyond what you are used to in order to stand up for the oppressed.
- Lessons in PowerPalestine | Since our last update, Maria and I have traveled from Hebron to Jerusalem and spent a few days in the old city. We then spent a week in Budapest (I was mostly sick 🙁), and last night we made it back to Seattle after 413 days on the road!
- Do you run out of tears?Palestine | Today we visited a kindergarten class and had an amazing time playing with the kids. Watching these kids, I couldn’t stop thinking about what life will be like for them…
About Us
Hi! We are Maria and Christian. We are currently on a year-long round the world trip.
Before traveling full-time, Christian worked as a software engineer, and Maria worked as a registered dietitian. We both love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors (hiking, gardening, cycling, fishing, and camping). In our lives we value and strive for simplicity, adventure, justice, and of course being a little crunchy.
